PRP
What is PRP treatment?
PRP (platelet-rich plasma) treatment for hair loss is a three-step medical treatment in which a person's blood is taken, processed, and then injected into the scalp .
Some in the medical community believe that PRP injections trigger natural hair growth and maintain this growth by increasing blood flow to the hair follicle and increasing the thickness of the hair strand. Sometimes this approach is combined with other hair loss procedures or medications .
It is not yet clear whether PRP, which has been used since the 1980s, is an effective hair loss treatment. It was often used in processes such as healing injured tendons, ligaments and muscles.
PRP therapy process
PRP treatment consists of a three-step process. Most PRP treatments require three treatments, 4-6 weeks apart. The PRP treatment process works as follows:
Blood is taken from the patient and put into a centrifuge device .
Then, in the Centrifuge, the blood is divided into three layers for about 10 minutes.
Platelet-weak plasma
Platelet-rich plasma
Red blood cells
The platelet-rich plasma is drawn into a syringe and then injected into areas of the scalp where hair growth needs to increase.
Hair loss
PRP injections can be effective in treating male pattern baldness in both preventing hair loss and promoting new hair growth. PRP can also help stimulate hair growth after hair transplantation.
